Athletes Skills Put to Test on Day 2 in Denmark
Posted On:  12/09/2018 09:26:17

Dimmed morning light, blazing clouds and showers on the second competition day. The fierce winds from 18 to 35 knots, allowing most of the competitors to start the races on their medium sized equipment. Later  during the windy afternoon changes were made to the smallest equipment registered for this championship.

With the strong wind conditions today in Hvide Sande, we saw a few changes in the current event rankings of both the Men and Women divisions. Many competitors struggled in the gusty strong winds while others took advantage of the provided conditions. Enrico Marotti and Jenna Gibson are still both leading the current event rankings as we watch them sail their way to success.

Men division highlights: Poland's Maciek Rutkowski and Italy's Bruno Martini both entering the top 5. Maciek Rutkowski won elimination 3 and took second place in elimination 4. With 3 days more to go and only 5.6 points behind the current event leader Enrico Marotti, we expect to see more close racing action during the remaining event days.

Women division highlights: While the victorious Jenna Gibson remains unbeatable, winning all 6 eliminations, it is Sarah Jackson from Great Britain who scored two second places in the last 2 Finals today. Previous competitors on Position 2 (Fulya Ynlu ) and 3 ( Marianne Rautelin ) have shifted positions, but now share equal points (11) and Sarah Jackson is now only 3 points away from a podium position.
