Czech Supercup 2016
Posted On:  08/09/2016 18:17:10

Another Supercup event took place from 3rd to 4th September at Nove Mlyny lake in the Czech Republic.  Foreign competitors came from Slovakia, Hungary and Germany to take part at this event in Bic Techno 293, Formula and Raceboard classes (two RS:X included). There were overall 79 sailors ready to start.

Beautiful, sunny and warm weather did not bring any wind on Saturday. There was only a weak breeze in the evening, good for training and equipment trimming but not enough to start the race.  The wind came from the south on Saturday in the afternoon. It was possible to sail races in marginal planing conditions (Raceboard - 4 races, Techno - 3 races, Formula - 1 race).  The wind was shifting all the time, so it was not easy to reach the top mark.  Local Martin Pospisil (Raceboard CZE-21) showed us who knows the wind best, and was often seen in top position on courses upwind.

The first prize in Techno Class was awarded to Richard Geiger (HUN-206).  He was followed by talented Slovak girl Karolina Berankova (SVK-11) and Roland Szloni (HUN-282) took the third place. The first Czech competitor Tibor Nevelos (CZE-787) finished in 5th place.  Perfect performances were also shown by the youngest sailors - Simon Skrepek and Alexandra Lojinova (born 2007).

The best in Raceboard Class was fresh Czech Champion Adam Horky (CZE-10).  He took three bullets and was beaten only once by junior Petr Kucera (CZE-15) who was second overall. Radim Kamensky (CZE-110) finished in third place, followed closely by Patrik Pollak (SVK-1).

In Formula Class only one race could be sailed in low wind conditions and Patrik Hrdina (CZE-17) finished first, second was Jakub Zima (CZE-777) and third Lukas Neumann (CZE-177).

We are looking forward to the next Supercup event in Germany - Chiemsee, from 7th to 9th October!
