ISR (boys) and THA (girls) shine on day 5 of racing at YOG

Two more races were completed on the fifth day of racing in Singapore. It was another good day for Rafic Mayan (ISR), with a 1st and a 1st, enabling him to consolidate his position at the top of the overall rankings. Two 3rd places from Kieran Martin (GBR) moved him to within one point of the silver medal position. There were good performances also, with top 5 finishes, from Chaneui Kim (KOR) and Birkner Saubitet (ARG).

In the girls fleet Siripon Kaewduang-Ngam (THA) had a great day, recording two 1st places, moving her further ahead of her nearest rival, Naomi Cohen (ISR). Naomi’s 2nd place in race 7 keeps her in contention for a medal, despite a disappointing 8th in race 8 ! However sailor of the day was Veronica Fanciulli (ITA) with a 3rd and 2nd to boost her fight back after her OCS in race 6.
