Day 4 of the 2026 IFCA Slalom Grand Slam World Championships in Leucate began with a quiet morning, as light unstable winds of 4 to 8 knots kept fleets on standby. By early afternoon, conditions improved to around 10 knots, allowing Foil racing to resume at the Mondial du Vent.

Racing continued throughout the afternoon in winds ranging between 9 and 11 knots, allowing multiple Foil heats to be completed. Conditions remained steady enough to progress the schedule, while some fleets experienced tight battles and minor shifts in the rankings. Several protest hearings were also conducted during the day.

With three eliminations completed, the first discard came into effect for the Men and Youth Men fleets, adding further significance to each result. In the Youth Men’s division, Kasper Nielsen DEN-148 maintained a strong lead and is on track to secure the title.

In the Senior Women’s fleet, Justine Lemeteyer FRA-171 continued her dominant performance and remains firmly in control of the standings.

In the Men’s Foil fleet, the third elimination was completed, bringing further changes to the rankings, while a fourth elimination was started but not finished which now added further suspense heading into the final day. A second discard will only come into play after five completed eliminations, keeping the overall results wide open.

As winds became lighter and more unstable in the late afternoon, racing was eventually called off. With one day remaining, attention now turns to the forecasted Tramontana winds, which are expected to arrive early. An early morning start has been announced, raising anticipation for a decisive final day in Leucate.
