The Windsurfing Club of Skive will host this great event at one of the best spots that Denmark can offer for Formula Windsurfing![more]
Typically they have 10 to 20 knt. of wind and flat water on Skive fjord – absolutely perfect conditions for Formula racing – for both juniors as well as the more experienced youth and masters.
The event will be from August 28. – 03. September 2011, late summer where the weather still calls for shorts and T-shirts, but you could need a 3-4 mm wetsuit with short sleeves – remember this is the home land for the real Vikings!
Top racers from all over the world will come, and we have already received positive response from Australia, Brazil, Finland, Norway, France, Estonia, Latvia, Sweden – this promises to be a really big event!
Skive Windsurfing Club will have their focus on 3 things for this event :
high quality racing on the water
keeping costs down for overseas competitors
social networking amongst windsurfers across the world
Skive is situated at 56.34.50 N – 09.03.20 E in the western part of Denmark. The closest international airports are – 110 km Billund, 350 km Copenhagen and 390 km Hamburg (Germany) – and Skive is also very close to one of the famous windsurfing spots “Cold Hawaii” Klitmoeller. Hotel, apartments and camping is located directly at the beach where the racing will take place.
