The first ever European Youth Sailing Games has been awarded by EUROSAF to the Fraglia Vela Riva del Garda, Italy, and will take place from 13th-18th August 2011 (note date change).[more]


The equipment to be used is as follows:
Boy’s One Person Dinghy – Byte CII
Girl’s One Person Dinghy – Byte CII
Open Skiff – 29er
Open Multihull – SL 16
Boy’s Windsurfer – Techno 293
Girl’s Windsurferr – Techno 293


Entries will be open to all European Member National Authorities, each of whom will be entitled to enter up to two crews in each discipline. Entries will be limited, so will be accepted on a strictly first come first served basis. The age limit will be under 19 on 31st December 2011.


Thanks to the generous co-operation of boat builders Nautivela (Byte CII) and Ovington (29er) a limit number of charter boats will be available. All competitors will have the option of bringing their own equipment. Discussions are currently in progress concerning the availability of charter boats from and Sirena Voile (SL16) and boards from BIC.
The Race Office opens on Sunday 7th August and racing will commence on Tuesday 9th August, with a practice race being held on Monday 8th. The series will be sailed over a variety of courses and there will be an overall winner in each class, as well as an overall national team.


The Notice of Race and associated entry form will be published shortly and sent to all EUROSAF members. A detailed press release will be published in the near future.
