Fernando Consorte, ARG 355, was the winner of the Raceboard Fleet. Brazilian Dulter Manhaes held on to second place but Jorge Rebello, BRA 2, took third with a couple of bullets on the last day. FINAL RESULTS

In the Slalom Fleet Wilhelm Schurmman, BRA 999, was the undisputed champion although Alex Guyader, ESP 5, in second place overall took three more bullets in the last three rounds. Ricardo Santos, BRA 1, held on to his third place.


Nikola Girke was a convincing winner in the slalom ladies. Marina Alabau kept second place and Moana Belle stayed in third position. FINAL RESULTS

Three races on day 3 for the Techno 293 Fleet. Brenno Francioli, BRA 70, allowed Francisco Saubidet Birkner, ARG 40 and leader of the Under 15s, to win race 7 but has extended his overall lead by winning races 8 and 9. Results


In the Raceboard Fleet Fernando Consorte, ARG 355 has extended his lead winning both races on day three. Brazilian Dulter Manhaes holds on to second place but is only one point ahead of fellow countryman Martin Cordiolli in third overall. Jorge Rebello, BRA 2, had a good day coming second in both races. Wilhelm Schurmman, BRA 999, still leads but conceded rounds 7 and 9 to Spaniard Alex Guyader in second place overall in the Slalom Fleet. Ricardo Santos, BRA 1, has moved into third overall.


Nikola Girke holds on to the overall lead in the ladies. However rounds 8 and 9 were not good for her. Interestingly, Marina Alabau who had a couple of bad rounds 6 & 7, took the bullet in round 8 and 9 and is in second place overall. 28 competitors, including 9 women, are taking part in the slalom competition at the IV Buzios International Regatta, Brazil. A strong local Brazilian contingent are joined by competitors from Spain, Canada and Germany.


Wilhelm Schurmann dominates the leaderboard with perfect results. Alex Guyader and Ivan Pastor have a close battle in second and third.


Canadian Nikola Girke leads the women and Brazilian Mateus Cocchi leads the youth fleet.

Results are in after 2 races on day one for the Raceboard Fleet. Dulter Manhaes, BRA 1, leads with two bullets. And in the Techno 293 fleet 3 races for the boys and one for the girls.

At the end of the registrations and measurement day, (50) sailors had registered for the event. Eight countries (ARG, BRA, CAN, ESP, GER, GRE, ISR, PER) are present



Leading the 2012 South American Championships is the RSX class with (28) sailors. Techno 293 class follows with (8) and Raceboard with (7) entries.


For the IFCA Brazilian Championship (23) sailors had registered.


Tomorrow for the first day of races the forecast is cloudy, with heavy rain and winds between 20 and 25 knots. Of course anything that reminds the sunny Buzios of this time of the year (sic).


The first class to be called will be the Techno 293, followed by classes Raceboard and RSX.
