Over 40 athletes entered, including special guests Steven Van Broeckhoven (Freestyle World Champion 2011) and Tatiana Howard (Butterfly Effect) and Olympic athletes who had recently competed in London 2012!
Twenty boards and rigs were ready and waiting on the lawns of the CST! All competitors had to bring were their wetsuits and harnesses.
The day started with winds around 10 knots. Competitors all on identical kit, it was a reaching start with racers gybing 3 downwind buoys, then upwind to the finish line just in front of the CST. Those who could pump well definitely had the edge!
In the evening, the LEDs on the sails provided a spectacular show!
Day two brought lighter winds than the day before but here was the proof that the RS: One can start racing from 4 knots! Positions did not change from the day before.
Andrea Ferin was Senior champion, father Ezio Ferin was first Master (technically the family have won the use of a beautiful Jaguar for 4 weeks!), Espoir was won by Jozef Masseroli and Olympian Diana Detre was first woman.
Jaguar were busy in their sponsor lounge, offering super aperitifs to all competitors, friends, relatives, girlfriends and demonstrating the new Jaguar models, including the Sportbrake XF.
The Jaguar NeilPryde Racing Series moves on to Nice, France for the next event on 20-21 October.
