2013 has been another great and intense year for the RS:One Class as its continues its global growth.  The NeilPryde Racing Series in collaboration with the Extreme Sailing Series brought together eight great venues while the first Asian championships hosted at the Singapore Open saw the RS:One class becoming the biggest class of the event.[more]

The RS:One class supported an emerging nation program with Myanmar introducing windsurfing competition for the first time in this country. School boys and girls went from beginners to regatta racers with the RS:One and ended in top three places, amongst more established nations like Singapore, Thailand or Malaysia, at the pre-Sea Games Regatta in April.

The European championship was hosted by Les Crocodiles de L’Elorn club, in Brest, France and Beylikduzu, Istanbul, Turkey was the venue for the 2013 World Championships last August.

In Brazil, with a solid fleet of 55 racers, many races were accomplished. Notably, the last NeilPryde Racing Series stopover in Florianoplis saw victory by the local iconic waterman Adrien Caradec and the Brazilian RS:One championships in Itaparica crowned Bruna MC Mello in women’s and Matheus CP Mesquita in men’s competitions.

The Sea Games will be held in Myanmar at the end of December with the RS:One as the only windsurfing class.

2014 promises to be another big step forward with the RS:One inclusion into the Asian Games (Korea), the Asian Beach Games (Thailand), European championships to be held in Alacati, Turkey and the Worlds in Noumea at the end of October (TBC). The Asian championships will be held in Pattaya during the Top of the Gulf Regatta in May and the Asean championships in Bintan, Indonesia in February.

Brazil will again strongly represent the Class in South America with seven events including the South Americans at the Rio Olympic venue and the North American championships in Puerto de Cancun, Mexico.

Finally, in France, seven national events including three French Championships organised by the new European one-design distributor, Christophe Boutet, will bring a fresh new impetus to this one-design class with French clubs and racers.
