UNDER 17 – A twist at the top in the Under 17 Gold fleet – the result of which is also worth the qualification for the Youth Olympics in August in China – as French Tom Monnet, thanks to a first and a second place in the first two races of the day with the Peler, climb to the the first place in the provisional standings with a 9 points lead over Russian Maxim Tokarev, who had kept the head of the ranking since the early races.
Confirmed in the third position the Dutch Lars van Someren, tied in points with Russian athlete, and thus still in the race to get on the second step of the podium, in the conclusive races of tomorrow, when the athletes will take the water at dawn, to make the maximum of the northern Garda’s “wind machine”. For the purpose of the qualifications for the Youth Olympics, the nations fighting for the four places available in the male division are Russia, Holland, Italy, Turkey and Spain.

In the women’s division the battle is open, and it’s a real day of reckoning, because the three protagonists are the same as the previous edition of the Europeans: the Israeli maintain the championship lead, Noy Drihan (today two firsts and a second place, with a total of 13 points) and Shoval Ravitzky (today seventh, first and third, with 19 points net), but in third place is the winner of the previous edition of the Europeans, the Russian Mariam Sekhposyan (third, sixth and second, 31 points). It’s a fight for the same podium as last year but the positions, with only a day of races left, are reversed. Bad news for the French Lucie Pianazza instead, she slips from third place in the standings and definitely exits from the podium due to an injury in the first race of today that forced her to withdraw from the competition after a strong start.

UNDER 15 – The rankings of the Under 15 and the Plus divisions will be published in the evening: the fleet raced in the late afternoon and, after numerous protests, the ranking is currently being defined. It is certain, in the female division, the first place of Giorgia Speciale (Stamura Ancona), with two first places in today races also.
