Four more races, which makes it eight altogether in the championship after the first two days of racing in Balatonfured.
Patrik Pollak the former Raceboard Champion had his birthday today and although it was not one of his best days he was in good spirits. “A tough day, but it’s only half way, so we still have a lot of work. Important in these conditions, which are very shifty, is to stay calm and to do the best you can.[more]
“For me it is a little bit hard because it is physically demanding. It is not only the tactics but also a lot of physical endurance involved. I think it is still quite open until the last three days of the event. Although I lost a few places today I’m still looking forward to the last three days.
“Winning the event is still possible, but my goal before the event was the top 5 and as the event gets closer the appetite grows and a place on the podium would be great!”
Patrik is in fourth place, with Aron Gadorfalvi from Hungary winning.
Over in the ladies fleet Viviane Ventrin from France is leading, Ilona Grinberga is in second and Molly Howell from Great Britain in third.
Also the DII sailors have had some exciting races with Irek Kutyla winning so far.
Tomorrow an early start for everybody as the wind is forecast to decrease after noon. First possible warning signal at 9:30.
