NeilPryde and the RS:Convertible Class are proud to announce the first Wind Foiling  Championship. Organized by the International Windsurfing Association (IWA) and Clube Naval Praia da Vitoria, in partnership with the Azores Government, the RS:X Convertible Class Championship will run to November 4th, 2017, at Praia da Vitoria on the island of Terceira in the  Azores archipelago.[more]

Both male and female fleets will be competing separately for €40,000 in prize money. Just a few of the big names that will be competing are Marina Alabau, London Olympic gold medalist; Julien Bontemps, Beijing Olympic silver medalist; Shahar Zubari, Beijing Olympic bronze medalist; Thomas Goyard, RS:X Youth World Champion 2010; Sebastian Kornum, 3rd 2015 Formula Windsurfing World Championship and Alexandre Cousin, 2016 Formula Windsurfing World Champion.
 
The RS:X Convertible is the ultimate wind foiling convertible performance pack, comprising of a full carbon foil and fin with a 7.8 rig for the men and 7.0 rig for the women. This cutting-edge equipment is expected to allow athletes to raise the racing bar to a whole new level and show the world the excitement of foil racing.
 
The Championship, open to all who meet the requirements, will allow competitors to compete in various courses including the Pulsar (compact slalom), the Super 8 (long distance), and the Regatta (America’s Cup style). In addition, the courses will be set up to provide spectators with an exciting view of the action. Competitors will race a maximum of five races per day in a 16-race series with a requirement of three races to validate the Championship.
