2019 IFCA Slalom Worlds at the Multivan Summer Opening in Sylt

For the first time ever the Mens Slalom Worlds are combined with the Masters Championships. So the event will be specifically attractive for all those slalom legends who dominated the competitions already 10 or 15 years ago. The venue Westerland/Sylt is famous for its challenging conditions. The riders have to prepare for the unexpected as Sylt can throw anything to the athletes. Offshore winds can offer a flat to choppy speed strip. But when a western storm approaches the North Sea can transform into a beast and provide waves up to three meters high with a challenging shore break. Many riders are still thrilled from the epic conditions at the 2018 IFCA Slalom European Championships at the same venue last year and are eager for the upcoming Worlds on Sylt.

But the riders can not only expect a spectacular competition on the water. The event setup is impressive with a pumping audience of up to over 100,000 spectators who will honor the performance of the riders on the water. Not to forget the huge program around the event with yoga sessions, interviews, stands on the promenade and luxury catering. An additional bonus are the insane parties in the event tent directly on the promenade or in the infamous clubs in the city.

Lasting from June 3rd to 10th the IFCA Slalom World Championship on Sylt fits perfectly into the international calendar. It follows the PWA Foil Worldcup in Costa Brava (Spain) and the famous DEFI Wind in France and leads the pro riders to the PWA Worldcup in Portugal which starts five days after the IFCA Slalom Worlds. This will allow many international riders to participate in the worlds and at the same time follow their other agendas.
