The fight for the title was continued on the sixth day of the IFCA Slalom World Championships on Sylt. With wind forces of up to 20 knots, the fourth slalom elimination could be started. The Frenchman Basile Jacquin (FRA-498) was able to continue his outstanding performance that he already showed on the previous day. With his victory in the fourth elimination, he also significantly extended the lead in the preliminary overall standings. [more]

Basile Jacquin can look back on a very successful day. In almost all heats, he was first on the finish line and could also succeed in the final. He relegated Martin Moller Hovda (NOR-41) of Norway to second place. He was followed by Nicolas Prien (GER-7) from Kiel, whose third place was the best result he has achieved during the event so far. Dutchman Ingmar Daldorf (NED-191) finished fourth, ahead of Frenchman Damien Cervera (FRA-422) in fifth.
The German title candidates Vincent Langer (GER-1) from Kiel and Gunnar Asmussen (GER-2) from Flensburg had a less fortunate day. Vincent Langer missed the entry into the A-final due to an over-early in the semifinals. He was able to win the B-final and saved a ninth place. Gunnar Asmussen (GER-2) didn’t make it to the semifinals and finished in 32nd place.
In the preliminary overall standings, the TOP-5 are extremely close together after today’s decision. Only Basile Jacquin has a relatively comfortable lead (4.4 points). He is followed by Damien Cervera in second place ahead of Ingmar Daldorf and Martin Moller Hovda. All three riders currently have 12.0 points. The fifth place goes to Vincent Langer with 14.7 points.
For tomorrow’s last day of the Multivan Summer Opening, the current standings promise an exciting finish in the fight for the IFCA Slalom World Champion title. All the current Top-5 still have the chance to win the IFCA Slalom World Championships. The award ceremony is scheduled for 5pm.
