Hot temperatures and light winds have greeted the start of the IFCA Youth and Women Slalom Worlds hosted by Cercle Nautique Tranchais. A total of 142 competitors from 3 Continents and 14 Countries are here. Yesterday the event Opening ceremony took place and today the first skippers meeting was held. [more]

The first competition day in La Tranche sur Mer was all about try-outs, as teasing conditions kept most of the competitors ashore. The two-course areas were set and both race committees were on standby on the water with hopes of starting the first races if the wind should arrive. A few competitors took the opportunity to have some fun and tuning sessions in winds from 7 to 11 knots which unfortunately was not suitable enough to start the championship.

Tomorrow’s forecast looks slightly better for the early morning and that is why the skippers meeting for the second competition day is set for . . . 08:00 and the first start scheduled for 08:30.
