The Garda Trentino is once again in full swing with a huge amount of international events which are organized by the sailing clubs of the area: this weekend will kick off the Slalom Youth and Junior World Championships recognized by the international IFCA class (International Funboard Class Association) .The opening ceremony will be held at the Circolo Surf Torbole this saturday the 19th of June at 7 pm.
The IFCA Slalom Worlds is an event which gathers the best youngsters, who find slalom the most exciting discipline combining power, precision in maneuver and speed.
About a hundred participants, half of them divided into the two categories junior (under 17) and youth (under 21), coming from 16 nations, mostly European, among which many Turks and French will be competing against each other.
The Circolo Surf Torbole is organizing the first international event of the season (the Techno 293 World Championship will follow in October) with its newly elected Board of Directors which has been confirmed last week. Reelected as president Armando Bronzetti Giovanni Nogler as Vice-President and Andrea Battistel as Director. Some fresh air coming in with the election of some athletes and next generation members of the club, who will be engaged in the next four years, such as Greta Marchegger and Bruno Martini, together with Paola Foladori, Elena Pitton, Stefano Bonazza, Sarah Maffeo. In the supervisory board voted Andrea Turetta, Lois Reichholf and Daniele Trapella; accountants are Andrea Mantovani, Massimo Polettini and Davide Vecchi.
The IFCA World Championship, organized with the collaboration of the AICW (Windsurfing class Association) and by delegation of the Italian Sailing Federation, will end on Wednesday, June 23rd. With only one day of break in between from Friday 25th until Sunday 27th of June, one of the most historical and coolest regattas of the international windsurfing panorama is scheduled: the RRD One Hour Classic, which is “sold out” once again this year with 100 entries reached one week before the start. The One Hour (Slalom racing across the lake for 1 hour counting the greatest number of laps) represents the most participated slalom regatta in Italy.
The Circolo Surf Torbole will also be the protagonist of the recording of a new episode of “Velissima”, the new broadcast dedicated to the educational and sports activities of the sailing clubs of the Alto Garda and of their respective municipalities and territories. On air on Trentino TV, as well as in a circuit of 100 other local TVs distributed throughout Italy.
