The 2014 RS:One Asian Championships in collaboration with the Top of the Gulf Regatta (TOGR) and the Windsurfing Association of Thailand (WATH) ended on Sunday 4 May at the Ocean Marina complex in Pattaya. The event delivered 3 intense days of one-design windsurfing races.[more]
Competitors from 7 nations, including the promising new windsurfing countries of Myanmar and Sri Lanka, had to perform in tricky and challenging wind conditions due to massive storm activities playing with the nerves of both the organisers and the racers!
In these “technical” conditions, with shifty winds from 4 to 14 knots and temperatures up to 37 degrees, Hong Kong and Thailand affirmed their domination, claiming the victory in the 4 Divisions (Men, Espoir Men, Women and Espoir Women).
The RS:One Class will continue its 2014 journey with the European Championships in Cesme (Turkey), the Asian Sailing Championships and Asian Games in Incheon (South Korea), the Beach Games in Phuket (Thailand) and its world championships in Bintan (Indonesia).
