Sopocki Klub Zeglarski (SKZ) in Sopot, Poland, will host “back-to-back” European Championships this July for the Techno 293 (T293) Association.

The T293 European Championships (23 to 30 July) will be preceded (17 to 22 July) by the inaugural European Championships for the T293 Plus class, most recently selected as windsurfing equipment for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.[more]

The T293 Plus class has 2 divisions for both men and women – Youth or under 19 years of age, and Open or 19 years and older.  The maximum sail size is the Bic Sport 8.5 sq.m One Design; and all competitors can opt to sail with the 8.5 or the 7.8 OD as their main sail.  As with the T293 class, a change down sail is permitted – see T293 Plus Class Rules.

The T293 championship will, as usual, include Junior (under 15) and Youth (under 17) divisions, but also an Open (17 and over) division.  The maximum sail size for Juniors is the 6.8 OD; the maximum sail size in Youth and Open divisions is the 7.8 OD – T293 Class Rules.

Both championships may include a long distance race in addition to the usual course racing; however, the T293 Plus event will also include slalom racing.
NEW- all competitors will be given “tracking” devices to enable all races, and all racers, to be followed throughout both regattas.
Over the ensuing 2 weeks of activity a number of new activities will be on show and available for sailors to participate in – a truly Bic Sport Festival atmosphere!
Full details will be posted in future news items, as a taster – Wind-suping and Techno freestyle.
