3 tactical “Regatta” races in shifty winds up to 12 knots gathered windsurfers in the beautiful bay of Loctudy. Plenty of sun, clear blue sky and Caribbean waters style turned this first day of Championships to a success.

In the Women’s fleet, France with Taina Salette takes the lead ahead of Le Bars Louise and Spanish racer Emone Bohorques Andrea.

France again, dominated the Men fleet with Salette Florian, Guerin Pierre, and Abiven Maxime respectively 1st, 2nd and 3rd.[more]

The wind forecast promises more challenging conditions for the next few days but organisers might be lucky with thermal breeze in the afternoons.

Stay tuned!

The RS:One Class, in partnership with the FFV and the Cercle Nautique de Loctudy, is organising its 2016 European Championships from 4th to 9th July in Loctudy, France.

The championship, open to all, allows European racers to compete through innovative race formats like The Pulsar (compact slalom, America’s Cup style) and Marathon (long distance). Courses are set up in a way that the on-shore audience can enjoy the races.

RS:One is a multi generational, one-design windsurfing board featuring an easy and light performing 7.8 rig. Espoirs (youth under 22 years old), Seniors (under 40 year old) and Masters (older than 40), men and women, can race together on the same starting line in a collective fleet.

The European Champions will be invited full expenses to the 2016 RS:One World Championships to be held in the World Class city of Penghu (TAIWAN) from the 26th September till 1st October.
