The ERGO Hestia European Championships took off today in Sopot Poland with offshore wind gusting well above 20 knots.
What a great day for the competitors. Four races completed in atomic conditions.[more]
The favourites prevailed with the reigning champion Michal Polanowski in third, Wojtek Brzozowski in second and Hubert Mokrzycki in first place after today. Maja Dziarnowska, who is the only lady in the fleet, is in the middle of the fleet in 12th place.
All the top competitors prepared hard and although they are here to win it, they respect each other and expect a high level of racing throughout the week. “When I compete, it is only to get the win,” said Wojtek Brzozowski before the starts.
Lets wait and see what happens tomorrow. With the wind forecasted to be even stronger than today we are in for some great action.
