Day 3 of the 2026 IFCA Slalom Grand Slam World Championships at the Mondial du Vent in Leucate, France, saw racing continue under slightly improved but still marginal wind conditions. While expectations were high for stronger winds, conditions remained insufficient to commence racing in the Fin division.

Foiling once again dominated the day’s program, taking full advantage of the available wind range between 9 and 14 knots. Following a sunny morning and the 10:00 wind assessment, Foil racing got underway, allowing further progress across multiple fleets.

The Men’s and Youth Men’s fleets successfully completed their second elimination, building on the results secured on the previous day. In the Women’s and Youth Women’s fleets, competition advanced with three additional full fleet races, further shaping the overall standings.

Among the Men, French favorite Pierre Mortefon (FRA-14) maintained his leading position following his early victory, continuing to show strong consistency at the top of the rankings. In the Women’s fleet, multiple champion Justine Lemeteyer (FRA-171) remained dominant, while the rest of the top positions saw notable changes, including an impressive performance from Germany’s Alisa Engelmann (GER-369).

In the Youth fleets, Kasper Nielsen (DEN-148) leads the Youth Men after securing two race wins, while in the Youth Women’s division, Eleonore Lambeaux (FRA-50) holds a comfortable lead despite already counting two discards.

Racing continued into the early afternoon, with steady but light winds between 10 and 12 knots allowing additional Foil eliminations to be completed. However, by 13:30, the wind dropped below the required threshold on Course A, prompting the Race Committee to raise the AP flag and send competitors back to shore. Despite further waiting and monitoring of conditions throughout the afternoon, racing was eventually called off at 17:00.

Another productive day of competition concluded in Leucate, with Foil racing delivering key results while Fin Slalom competitors continue to await suitable conditions. With forecasts still indicating the potential arrival of stronger Tramontana winds, anticipation remains high for the coming days of racing.
