Despite a favourable forecast, and a first warning signal at 08.30, it was not possible to add any more racing to the 7 races completed yesterday.
Nevertheless top formula racers were still making the headlines in the German SUP Challenge.

Day 3 and once again the crowds were out in force – soaking up the sun and the incredible atmosphere that is always a feature of Sylt. The Rollei stand created a lot of interest – displaying their lastest products and a nice feature is the display of classic cameras going back to the 1930’s.
After a morning of very unstable gusty offshore winds race 4 finally got away mid afternoon in conditions completely different from the day before – flat water racing in 8-11 knots! Most of the fleet started on port, four sailors were OCS, as Ross Williams led the fleet with Arnon Dagan hot on his heels. Arnon took the win in Race 4 just ahead of Ross.
Arnon was victorious also in race 5 which quickly followed. Ross underlayed mark 1 trying to get an advantage over Arnon and Steve Allen and came off badly, dropping from 3rd to about 10th. However, he did well to make it back up 5th by the end of the race.
After a break ashore, race 6 was away just after 18:00 followed quickly by race 7 and Ross was firmly back on top taking bullets in both.
At the end of the day, two discards come into play. Ross Williams is at the top of the leaderboard with Arnon Dagan in second place, Steve Allen in third. These three have a sizeable lead over Casper Boumann and Dennis Little in fourth and fifth – and just one point separates these two. However, a change in conditions on the water could shake up the whole fleet – stay tuned!!
In anticipation of another great day’s racing, the first possible warning signal for day 4 has been brought forward to 08.30.
